HealthMedia Named “Company of the Year”
and Receives Several More Distinguished Awards

ANN ARBOR, MICH. – December 15, 2008 – HealthMedia, Inc., the pioneer in applying advanced technology to emulate a health coaching session via the web – without the coach – for wellness, behavioral health, disease management, aging well, and medication adherence, continues to be acknowledged as a leader in business and healthcare innovation with several recent awards. The company was named 2008 “Company of the Year” by the Michigan Business Review; received two eHealthcare Leadership Gold Awards; became a four-time Ann Arbor SPARK FastTrack Growth Award winner; and was a 2008 Global Award Finalist for a short film titled The Appointment, which focuses on the doctor-patient relationship.

HealthMedia Founder and Chief Science Officer, Dr. Vic Strecher, and President Ted Dacko accepted the award for Company of the Year on Friday, November 14, at the Ann Arbor Business Review’s fourth-annual gala, which drew over 430 of the region’s top business leaders. “It was, perhaps, the proudest moment that I have had at HealthMedia and I accepted the award on behalf of every HealthMedia employee,” said Dacko. “We are proud of our ability to build a profitable, high growth, and recession-proof software as a service technology company in Ann Arbor that companies in Silicon Valley could only envy.”

Wednesday, November 12, marked the fourth consecutive year that HealthMedia was honored with the Ann Arbor SPARK FastTrack Growth Award, which recognizes local companies for outstanding business success. Awards are presented to companies with consistent records of growth. HealthMedia’s Vice President of Strategy and Business Development Mary Jo Cartwright, who accepted the award, said, “It’s great to be on top and among the brightest and best companies in our region. HealthMedia will continue to strive for excellence to maintain this high level of distinction.”

HealthMedia was also honored on November 11 with two eHealthcare Leadership Gold Awards at the Twelfth Annual Healthcare Internet Awards in Orlando, Florida. HealthMedia was selected from more than 1,100 entries, and was recognized in the categories of “Best Health/Healthcare Content” and “Best Overall Internet Site.”.

“A growing number of healthcare organizations are clearly embracing the Web and emerging technologies,” said Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. “The 2008 awards program attracted entries from a diverse range of organizations.”
